Global ImageWorks Project for Firefighters
New Jersey-based Global ImageWorks was a major supplier of footage from its collection of fire and rescue footage in a new documentary Into The Fire, produced by The Firemen's Fund of America and directed by Academy Award winning director, Bill Couturie. The docu, which tells the personal stories of fire service workers, airs on The History Channel in the US October 13 and 22. GIW's Research and Clearance Division was responsible for all film research and licensing for archival materials used. Featuring music by Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Dire Straits, the documentary has been designed to inspire Americans to support firefighters in their own community. Profits from the film will be used to provide fire departments across the US with needed equipment, training and community education programs. Global ImageWorks represents several independent filmmakers from across the United States who have extraordinary access to fire fighting material which includes footage from the 1970s up through the present.
